Upper Hurstville | – Security District
Security District Board of Commissioners and Residents Association which work to maintain security and quality of life on the squares bounded by Magazine St., Exposition Blvd., Prytania St. & Nashville Ave. The Security district budget is funded by parcel fees on non exempt parcels, and the Resident's Association is funded by membership dues. Both boards are made up of property owners in the district who volunteer to serve.

LEAKE AVENUE REPAIRS The City has announced that a section of Leake Avenue between Broadway and Prytania Street (appx. four blocks, from Lambeth House to Carver Playground) will be closed in both directions and under repair until Spring of 2022.  The official detour route is via Broadway and St. Charles Avenue. The City has announced that curbside sanitation pick-up will be temporarily changed to once-a-week while post-storm cleanup is ongoing. Household garbage pickup in Upper Hurstville will be on Fridays, except for Exposition Boulevard and homes upriver from Calhoun Street which appear to have pickup on Wednesdays. Several reports have been posted on NextDoor.com of car break-ins and armed robberies involving a silver Infiniti sedan occurring in multiple neighborhoods during various times of the day.  Several of these crimes were committed in the UHSD and AAZSD.  According to our patrol coordinator for our off-duty NOPD officers, one of the individuals was caught on Monday, 12/12/20.  The investigation is ongoing as there are additional suspects.  Please be aware of your surroundings at all times of the day and night.  Remember, our patrol is available 24/7.  Call them if...
