Security District Board of Commissioners and Residents Association which work to maintain security and quality of life on the squares bounded by Magazine St., Exposition Blvd., Prytania St. & Nashville Ave. The Security district budget is funded by parcel fees on non exempt parcels, and the Resident's Association is funded by membership dues. Both boards are made up of property owners in the district who volunteer to serve.

In response to the recent uptick in crime in and around our neighborhoods, the UHSD and AASD Boards have added a second private patrol vehicle, nightly between 11 pm and 7 am, for the foreseeable future.  Remember to please leave your porch lights on, be aware of your surroundings, and leave nothing in your car.  Call the patrol (504-451-1614) if you see anything suspicious in the area, and remember that they are available 24/7 to escort you between your car and your door. Recently, we have all been concerned with numerous issues in our neighborhood, including the proliferation of criminal activity, the deplorable conditions of our streets and routinely missed garbage pickups which are scheduled for Fridays but is regularly not picked up until well into the next week.  I want to assure you that the Board has been proactive about addressing these problems. There will be a residents association meeting on Wednesday, January 18 at 6 pm, at the LaSalle Condos, 6048 Perrier Street.  Residents of both the Upper Hurstville and Audubon Association Security Districts are invited.  Leaders from NOPD Second District will attend along with Captain Wayne Delarge (NOPD/OPSE) and Omar Awad (SEI) representing our neighborhood patrols.  City Councilman Joe Giarrusso will also attend.
